Artrage, the company behind Fringe World Festival, has appointed Hesperia’s Kyle Jeavons as chair to replace the long-serving Anthony Robinson.

Mr Jeavons is a director at property developer Hesperia and is well-acquainted with Artage after serving on its board since 2013.

Prior to working at Hesperia, Mr Jeavons worked as development director at Fini Group and FJM Property.

Dr Robinson, who has been chair since 2014 and a board member since 2011, will remain on the board.

Artrage chief executive Sharon Burgess said Dr Robinson had been a leading figure in driving the growth and stability of the organisation over the years.

“I’m grateful that Anthony will continue to serve as an Artrage board director, enabling his legacy experience to continue to benefit the organisation,” Ms Burgess said.

Another long-serving board member, Artrage vice-chair Lindsay O'Sullivan, is also leaving the board, as did Megan Anwyl in 2021.

To replace the outgoing members, APM general manager marketing and Artrage board member Saffron Solomon will become vice-chair and Hesperia director Rowan Clarke is joining the board.

The announcement comes amid the 2022 Fringe World Festival, which runs until February 13.

Artrage is gearing up to launch its strategic plan for 2023-26 which will see the company focusing on creating more year-round performance opportunities and engagement with regional, culturally and linguistically diverse and disadvantaged groups.

It is also developing a new philanthropy program which is due to be unveiled soon.

According to Business News Data & Insights, Artrage is the ninth largest arts and cultural organisation in Western Australia with revenue of $14.4 million in the 2021 financial year.
