DRA Global has appointed Lindiwe Mthimunye and Val Coetzee as non-executive directors, with Jonathan Velloza resigning from the board. Ms Mthimunye is an experienced company director who has been on the boards of various listed and unlisted companies in South Africa. Mr Coetzee has extensive experience in the mining and mineral services industries, and a long association with the company where he had held several senior management positions over a 15-year tenure including as senior vice president of process engineering.

Fenix Resources has appointed current board members John Welborn as executive chair and Craig Mitchell as executive director. Mr Welborn has been non-executive chair since November 2021, and as interim executive chair since October 2022. Mr Mitchell is the founder of Newhaul Pty Ltd and joined the board as a non-executive director in September 2022 following Fenix’s acquisition and 100% ownership in Fenix-Newhaul Pty Ltd. Their appointments follow the expansion of the business with the acquisition of Mount Gibson Iron’s Mid-West iron ore assets and the acquisition of a 10-million tonne Right to Mine over Sinosteel Midwest Corporation’s BeebynW11 iron ore deposit.

Lachlan Star has appointed highly experienced mining executive and geologist Andrew Tyrrell as chief executive. Mr Tyrrell is an exploration geologist with over 20 years of experience in the minerals industry, with a primary focus on gold. He will commence in the role in February 2024.

Orthocell has appointed Professor Fiona Wood AM as an independent non-executive director from November 1, with Qi Xiao Zhou retiring from the board after 11 years of service and Dr Stewart Washer transitioning from executive director to non-executive director. Professor Wood is one of Australia’s most innovative and respected plastic & reconstructive surgeons & researcher, and an Australian Living Treasure. She was named Western Australian Citizen of the Year in 2003 and 2004, Australian of the Year in 2005, received a Member of the Order of Australia in 2003, and has a wealth of experience in navigating pathways for the development and commercialisation of innovative regenerative medicine products, successful international product launches, and engagement of strategic partners.

Rumble Resources has appointed Peter Harold as managing director and chief executive from 12 February 2024. Mr Harold is a process engineer and mining executive with over 30 years of strategic, commercial and corporate experience in the minerals industry. He will oversee the company’s next phase of growth as it continues to expand and enhance the emerging Tier 1 Earaheedy Zn-Pb-Ag Project in Western Australia. Peter Venn will transition from interim managing director to technical director when Mr Harold commences.
