Melanie Kiely will be stepping down as non-executive director of the Australian Finance Group at its upcoming AGM in November.

Canyon Resources has made some changes to its board structure as it transitions from an explorer to a developer of its fully-owned Minim Martap Project in Cameroon. Canyon has appointed Mark Hohnen as non-executive chair and Scott Phegan as non-executive director, with Cliff Lawrenson and Steven Zaninovich resigning as non-executive directors. Mr Hohnen has been involved in the mineral resource sector since the late 1970s and has extensive international business experience in a wide range of industries including mining and exploration, property, investment, software and agriculture. Mr Phegan has held multiple technical, project, strategic and executive roles within the bauxite and alumina industries over a 30-year international career with Alcoa and is experienced in the full project execution lifecycle from study phases through to construction, commissioning and operations.

Flinders Mines has appointed Daniel Harris as an independent non-executive director. Mr Harris is an experienced mining industry company executive and director, who has held C-suite roles in mining and metals companies around the world and has lived in the US, South Africa, Russia and Australia.

Frontier Energy has appointed Amanda Reid as non-executive director. Ms Reid has a significant background in government relations, providing advice to a wide cross-section of companies and organisations for more than 15 years.

Lindian Resources has appointed Alistair Stephens as its new chief executive. Mr Stephens is a geologist and specialist in the critical & strategic commodities sector, with 20 years of experience in rare earths and rare metals. Current non-executive chair Asimwe Kabunga will transition to an executive chair following the company’s recent acquisition of Rift Valley Resource Developments, a Malawi company that owns the globally significant Kangankunde Rare Earths Project.
