Peter Batten has transitioned from managing director to non-executive director of Carbine Resources. Over the last 2 years, Mr Batten has been involved in the Muchea West Silica Sand Project including the estimation of a maiden resource and submission of the company’s first mining license application.

CI Resources has appointed Chain Yee Tee as an alternate director for Dato’ Sri Lip Sin Tee. Ms Tee oversees the development of operational and financial strategies in her role as operations and finance director at Prosper Group.

Heavy Minerals has appointed Aaron Williams as non-executive director, following the resignation of Wayne Richards from the board. Mr Williams is a renowned international expert in the garnet industry with over 3 decades of experience. He has co-founded and managed businesses with operations nationally and internationally. His expertise will be instrumental in helping the company work towards developing its industrial garnet mining operations.

Helios Energy has appointed Mark Lochtenberg as non-executive director and Neville Henry as vice president of exploration & production. Nicholas Ong has resigned from the board after 6 years as a non-executive director. Mr Lochtenberg has been actively involved in the coal industry for over 30 years. Mr Henry is a qualified petroleum geologist with over 48 years of Australian, USA and other international technical, operational and executive petroleum experience in both onshore and offshore environments.

Pioneer Credit has appointed Pauline Gately and Suzan Pervan as independent non-executive directors, and Michelle d'Almeida has resigned from the board. Ms Gately is an experienced company director and had spent 20 years, predominantly across Asia, in senior roles where she was involved in investment banking across investment strategy, economic research and funds management. Ms Pervan is an experienced accounting professional, who co-founded accountancy firm Gooding Pervan in 1998 and worked until her retirement in 2010.

Rio Tinto has appointed Andy Hodges as group company secretary, and company secretary of Rio Tinto plc. He replaces Steve Allen who will become deputy chief legal officer at Rio Tinto.
