Board Moves August 28, 2023

Karl Page has stepped down as non-executive director of BBX Minerals. He joined the board in June 2022.

Fortescue Metals Group has appointed Larry Marshall as non-executive director, and current chief operating officer Dino Otranto has succeeded Fiona Hick as chief executive of Fortescue Metals. Dr Marshall is a highly experienced scientist, investor, business leader and the longest serving chief executive of Australia's national science agency CSIRO. The company has also announced that long-serving non-executive director Mark Barnaba will relinquish his role as lead independent director in 2024, but will continue in the role of deputy chair.

PharmAust, a clinical-stage ASX-listed biotechnology company, has appointed Dr Michael Thurn as chief executive from September 2023. Dr Thurn has broad experience in drug discovery, development, regulation and commercialisation through leadership roles held in research organisations and industry including early-stage, fast-growing, private and public-listed biotechnology companies. He has also been responsible for the execution of Phase 1 and 2 clinical trials and business development activities across animal & human health products. Dr Roger Aston will step down as acting CEO and transitions from an executive chair to non-executive chair.
