Balance Legal to merge with Advent Lawyers

Perth-based law firm Balance Legal is merging with regional player Advent Lawyers - forming a new group with four offices in Australia and Singapore, and plans to expand.

The combined firm, to be known as AdventBalance, will see Balance's Perth office join Advent's network of offices in Sydney, Melbourne and Singapore.

The company also has plans to open a fifth office in Brisbane later this year.

AdventBalance will have more than 80 lawyers across the five offices, with Balance Legal managing director Ken Jagger taking the reins as chief executive, while Advent's John Knox will take on the role of managing director Asia.

“Advent and Balance have very similar and complementary businesses and a shared commitment to providing clients with a real alternative,” Mr Jagger said.

“AdventBalance will be able to provide unique opportunities for lawyers and a greater depth of resources and significant value and cost savings for clients.”
