Monday, 25 July, 2022 - 00:00

Formerly known as BDO Professional Practices Network (PPN), BDO Connect is a well-established, member-based association, offering non-competitive support services in specialist tax and accounting advisory to enable small to medium accounting, legal and other boutique advisors to build a sustainable future.

“The establishment of BDO Connect reflects our position as a progressive and agile advisory firm, which is the service provider of choice for specialist consulting requirements of other practitioners,” said BDO Tax and Advisory Partner Mark Pollock.

“Importantly, we are seeking to further ‘connect’ with advisors through sharing of information, additional offerings, insights and a collegiate approach to doing business.

“With no joining fee or annual subscription fee, BDO Connect provides direct access to our specialists who have experience dealing with complex client issues across a range of areas. This is underpinned by an approach built on trust and a guarantee to not solicit a client from a referring advisor. In essence, we seek to be an extension of you in servicing your client.”

BDO Western Australia (along with other BDO member firms across Australia) has a history of working closely with WA accounting, legal and corporate advisory practitioners, often in partnership, on client assignments.

Since the 1980s, this has been through PPN, which has enabled BDO to develop a strong understanding of the needs of these practices. For members and referrers, BDO provides direct access to professional specialist teams that have experience dealing with complex client issues on a daily basis.

“Historically, we have mainly been sought out for specialist tax consulting and advisory, but our services also encompass access to our specialist advisors in the fields of audit and assurance, forensic accounting, merger and acquisition (M&A), corporate finance, risk management or superannuation,” said BDO Tax and Advisory Associate Director Jason Gaudoin.

“Many professionals operating as sole practitioners or in smaller to medium size practices, find themselves faced with client needs and issues outside of their normal range of experience, knowledge, capacity and/or risk profile. We can work with them to expand their offerings and enhance their relationships with their clients.

“Our objective is to assist members protect and enhance their own client relationships, while for BDO, BDO Connect represents a valuable referral source for advisory and consulting work, delivering due reward for quality service.”
