What?

SWAN Systems is a web-based soil moisture measurement and monitoring decision support system that collects automatically logged data from sensors. The platform is configured for the user’s crop type, soil type, location and management targets. The product uses telemetry to receive a range of data inputs including seven-day (site specific) weather forecasts, actual irrigated volumes applied, and soil moisture readings. Swan Systems’ proprietary algorithms then process the data to inform the user as to the right time and amount of water to be applied.

“Swan is a product of its time and place with WA being one of the driest states in the world’s driest inhabited continent. This necessitates water efficiency planning to be at the forefront of all that we do,” Rod Campbell said.
