Our weekly appointments wrap includes Andrew Van Dam, Andrew Peti, Dejan Jovanovic, Michael Parker, Sara Macliver, Jeff Ash, Tom Bromberger and Megan Bagworth.

Data management firm Tape Ark has announced the appointment of Andrew Van Dam as head of research and development. Mr Van Dam has been with the company since January serving as a development engineer. His new role will include leading the technical experts in the proprietary software and hardware enhancements of the company’s global tape ingest streaming technology.

Andrew Peti has joined Nedlands-based New Zealand Coastal Seafoods as chief operating officer. Mr Peti has over 14 years’ experience in the seafood industry including eight years as operations manager at Ngai Tahu Seafoods in New Zealand which supplied domestic and international markets with harvested seafood under contract. The appointment comes as the company listed on the ASX last month.

Serbian-focused miner Jadar Lithium has announced the appointment of Dejan Jovanovic as general manager of exploration, effective October 1. Mr Jovanovic has 12 years of experience in geological projects, most notably with Rio Tinto’s Jadar lithium-borate deposit in Serbia and with Pan Global Resources’ projects in the Balkans. He also acted as a consulting geologist to European Lithium.

Financial services group Hartleys has appointed Michael Parker as its business development manager. Mr Parker joined Hartleys after serving in a number of roles for BT Financial Group, including state manager for Western Australia, regional manager and head of adviser distribution. Mr Parker is the co-owner of Willpower Legal and is also a member of The Executive Connection.

WA Symphony Orchestra has appointed Perth soprano Sara Macliver to its board of directors. Ms Macliver is a regular performer with all of the Australian symphony orchestras as well as Perth, Melbourne and Sydney Festivals. She has performed with Pinchgut Opera, the Australian Chamber and Brandenburg Orchestras and Musica Viva, along with a number of international companies. She currently teaches undergraduate and postgraduate performance at the University of Western Australia.

Family Business Australia has appointed Jeff Ash to the role of state chairman. Mr Ash has been on the board since February last year and served as manager for his family-owned business Filter Supplies for 26 years. Tom Bromberger has been appointed to the newly-created role of state vice chairman. He has been on the board since November 2018 and served as director for Pelican Manufacturing for 21 years. Education manager of Academic Group Megan Bagworth has also been added to the board. She worked in the Department of Human Services from 2011 to 2013.
