Perth-based BNK Banking Corporation has recruited Stephen Kinsella as chief financial officer, effective from November 1. Sydney-based Mr Kinsella has more than 25 years of experience in the banking industry including most recently serving as Avenue Bank chief financial officer from 2021 until June this year. Prior to this, Mr Kinsella worked at Commonwealth Bank for 12 years, first as chief financial officer of the institutional banking and markets division and then as chief financial officer and head of finance, business and private banking. In the latter role, Mr Kinsella assisted in CBA’s acquisition and integration of Bank West.

Steve Moreland will be applying his more than 20 years’ infrastructure delivery experience in his new role as Perth Airport chief planning and projects officer. Mr Moreland has been appointed to drive the airport’s aviation and commercial development. His diverse experience in the infrastructure sector includes a decade working in senior roles at international airports. For three years, Mr Moreland was head of international ventures and head of passenger experience at Abu Dhabi Airports and prior to this, he worked as Dubai Airports head of airport development, delivery and ORAT for three years. In the latter role, Mr Moreland established the Program Office to accelerate a $US1.5 billion investment in the Dubai World Central Airport.

ASX-listed RLF AgTech has appointed Zaiqian Zhang as chief financial officer and company secretary, effective from October 23. Mr Zhang is a chartered accountant and chartered secretary with diverse expertise within accounting, finance and corporate governance. He previously worked at iron ore miner Genmin Limited as chief financial officer for two years. Before this, he spent more than seven years at Focus Minerals, first as senior accountant and alternate director and then as executive director, chief financial officer and company secretary.

Perth Symphony Orchestra has announced Lavan partner Paul McQueen and Leadership WA chief executive Dominique Mecoy will be joining its board of directors. Mr McQueen has more than 25 years of experience in law, specialising in town planning, environmental and land. Mr McQueen was one of the founding partners of Lavan Legal in 2015 and was appointed as general counsel in 2019. Ms Mecoy has worked as Leadership WA CEO for nearly six years and before this, she held roles across a diverse range of sectors including elite sport, science, zoos, food, cemeteries, and central government.

Mining services contractor Perenti has recruited prominent WA company director Diane Smith-Gander and mining industry director Andrea Sutton as non-executive directors following its acquisition of local competitor DDH1. Ms Smith-Gander and Ms Sutton had served at DDH1 since March 2021 as non-executive chair and non-executive director, respectively.

Ryan Stokes will step up as interim chair of Beach Energy after the gas explorer’s current chairman Glenn Davis announced his retirement.  ASX-listed Beach told the market the long-serving chairman would retire as a director on November 14, after first joining the board in 2007 and serving as chair since 2012.
