Marion Fulker will be chair of the Zoological Parks Authority Board. Ms Fulker is the chief executive of Committee for Perth, an adjunct senior research fellow at the University of Western Australia and a board member at Infrastructure Australia. Royal Flying Doctor Service (WA) senior manager fundraising and philanthropy Megan Keep has also been appointed to the board.

Herbert Smith Freehills has promoted Rachel Dawson and Olga Klimczak as partners in the employment, industrial relations and safety team and Mark Hatfull as partner in energy and resources. Ms Dawson specialises in industrial relations strategy, internal disputes and enterprise bargaining in the mining, maritime and oil and gas industries, while Ms Klimczak advises on employment, industrial relations, diversity and workplace health and safety issues in the energy and mining sectors. Mr Hatfull advises clients on transactions and projects in the energy, natural resources and infrastructure industries.

Grow Finance has appointed Victoria Graves as partner to lead the business’s expansion into Western Australia. Originally from the UK, Ms Graves has ten years of legal experience, practising law in WA and NSW, before moving into strategic advisory and business development roles in law and finance. She most recently worked at Gilbert + Tobin as business development manager.

Valentine Utete is joining Catalyst Metals as general manager of its Henty gold mine. Mr Utete is a mining engineer with over 25 years’ experience in the mining industry, predominantly in underground metalliferous mining. He has previously held positions of mining manager at Aeris Resources’ Tritton Operations in NSW and general manager of the Nifty Copper mine in Western Australia.

Black Cat Syndicate has hired Michael Bourke to the role of general manager - projects. Mr Bourke has held a number of operational, commercial, remote area and planning roles during his career of more than 25 years in the resources industry. He has experience working for public companies and their stakeholders including Bluestone Mines, Ausgroup, Iluka Resources, WMC Resources, Alcoa and CSR.
