Lavan has appointed Jorja Brady as a partner to its family law team. Ms Brady is an accredited family law specialist with almost two decades of experience in family law in Perth. Prior to this role, Ms Brady worked at Carr & Co Divorce & Family Lawyers starting as a clerk in 2008 and working up to legal practice director in 2012. She worked in this position until January 2022, according to LinkedIn.

Two Perth-based professionals have taken on part-time senior roles at RSM Australia, while continuing to work their day jobs. Partner James Komninos has been appointed as the chair for RSM’s Asia Pacific region, which covers 20 countries including Australia. Mr Komninos is an audit and assurance specialist and has been on the RSM international board since 2016. In this new position he will help grow Australia’s visibility in the Asia Pacific region. RSM Financial Services director Chris Jas had been appointed as the company’s national head of financial services.

Ed Armstrong has been recruited as chief executive officer at Banjima Native Title Aboriginal Corporation, effective from April 3. Mr Armstrong has worked as a senior executive delivering financial, commercial and operational services in the Indigenous, public and private sectors. Prior to this role, he worked as the chief executive at South West Aboriginal Land and Sea Council.

South32 has announced shifts in its leadership team, effective from April 1. Katie Tovich has been promoted to chief human resources and commercial officer after nearly four years as chief financial officer. Prior to this role, Ms Tovich worked at BHP in its finance department for more than 9 years. South32 vice president of finance Sandy Sibenaler will replace Ms Tovich as chief financial officer.

Global Lithium Resources has appointed Matthew Allen as chief financial officer, following a search for a new executive. Mr Allen has been a chartered accountant and financial professional in the resources sector for more than 25 years. His experience is expected to bolster Global Lithium’s Manna and Marble Bar Lithium Projects once he joins the company on April 17.

Melbourne-based law firm Corrs Chambers Westgarth has announced a shift in its Perth office executive team as Christian Owen takes the reins from Kirsty Sutherland as partner-in-charge. Mr Owen specialises in made-to-measure solutions for complex corporate transactions. He was also recognised by Best Lawyers in Australia 2023 as Perth’s Lawyer of the Year for his area of Mergers and Acquisitions Law. Ms Sutherland has been appointed to the Corrs board and will remain as a partner.
