Robyn Paice will be chair of the Busselton Water, after serving on the board since 2018. Dr Paice is a research fellow at Murdoch University and director and principal ecologist at South-West based Ottelia Ecology. Engineer Robin Belford and accountant Jane Sparkes are also joining the board.

The WA Building and Construction Consultative Committee has been established and will be chaired by Reg Howard-Smith. Mr Howard-Smith is the chair of the Building and Construction Industry Training Board and the Waste Authority and a board member of the Auspire - Australia Day Council WA. He was previously former Chamber of Minerals and Energy of WA chief executive.

Barry McGuire will be patron of Fremantle Press. Mr McGuire is a Balladong Wadjuk Noongar man who is chair of Spear Group Holdings and cultural advisor to the Indigenous Emerging Business Forum. He is a director of the Western Australian Planning Commission, The Spear Foundation and an advisory board member of Perth Festival and the Black Swan State Theatre Company of WA.

Jo Sadler has joined Wanslea Family Services as its chief executive from September. Ms Sadler now works as the state director WA/NT at Mission Australia. Prior to this, she was director of community services at the City of Bayswater and a community development director at the City of Subiaco.

Charmaine Tsang and Timothy Kucera have been appointed to the Western Australian Industrial Relations Commission. Ms Tsang is a partner of the Perth employment and safety team at global law firm HFW, with more than 17 years’ experience advising on employment, industrial relations and work health and safety. Mr Kucera is the state secretary of the United Professional Firefighters Union of WA.

JLL has made Karen Draper head of retail WA. Ms Draper has 22 years of retail experience, of which the first seven were spent at JLL. She went on to join AMP Capital in centre manager, development manager and general manager roles before becoming divisional property manager WA/NSW in 2018.

Peter Allen will take the role of principal at Guildford Grammar School from January 2023. Mr Allen currently works as vice principal of All Saints’ College. Prior to this role, he was the director of teaching and learning at Scotch College and the dean of teaching and learning at Penrhos College. He also has experience teaching in Dubai and London.
