West Australian Symphony Orchestra interim chief executive Paul Shannon has been appointed to the role on a permanent basis. Prior to joining the company, he worked at Rio Tinto, and its subsidiary Hamersley Iron, for more than two decades, starting in Tom Price. For eight years until 2018, Mr Shannon was chief financial officer of Rio Tinto’s iron ore business. Mr Shannon has been a director of WASO since 2013 and will continue to serve on the board while undertaking his new role.

Simon Wilkinson has been appointed as transactions director at national real estate and advisory firm Land, Agribusiness, Water & Development’s new Perth office.  For the past decade, Mr Wilkinson has worked at Elders in various positions including area manager WA- north and zone livestock manager. He has previously held roles at companies including Summit Fertilisers and IAMA/Landmark.

Yogesan Kanagasingam will be chair of Digital Health and Telemedicine at the The University of Notre Dame Australia. Previously, Professor Kanagasingam was the director of the Australian Telehealth Research and Development Centre and worked at the University of Western Australia. He was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship to Stanford University School of Medicine in 2011.
