Emma Scotney, Alan Rees and Julie Keene are joining the Insurance Commission of Western Australia board. Ms Scotney is a corporate lawyer, currently working as legal counsel at Imdex. Dr Rees has 25 years’ experience in financial services in banking, superannuation and investment. Ms Keene serves on several boards and previously led MyIntegra. Fellow commissioner Rob Bransby has been promoted to deputy chair.

Katie Mead has been made partner of Jones Day’s global disputes practice. Ms Mead was one of the first lawyers to join the firm’s Perth office when it opened in 2014. Prior to joining Jones Day, she worked at King & Wood Mallesons. Ms Mead has been involved with several associations including the Committee for Women in Oil and Gas in Western Australia.

Origins Market in Busselton has hired Pip Close as its general manager. Ms Close previously worked in the South West region as chief executive of the Margaret River Busselton Tourism Association. She has also worked in leadership positions interstate, as the chief executive of Tourism Tropical North Queensland and the general manager of Tourism Fraser Coast.
