St John of God Health Care has announced the addition of Mark Scatena to its board from April 8. Mr Scatena is the managing director of BWP Management Limited, the company in control of ASX-listed commercial real estate investment entity BWP Trust. In addition to the eight months spent at BWP Management, Mr Scatena’s career is comprised of a three-year stint as CSBP Fertilisers general manager and a five-year stint at Target Australia in several roles, including chief financial officer and general manager digital. Before this, he worked at Wesfarmers, holding senior roles across the company’s chemicals, energy and fertilisers division, WesCEF.

Real estate company Knight Frank Australia has recruited Lachlan Lewis to its Perth office, appointing him to the role of senior sales and leasing executive leading the industrial team. Mr Lewis has more than 30 years of experience in property and has transitioned to Knight Frank from Transact Capital, where he worked as director of office and metro markets. Before this, Mr Lewis worked for CBRE Asia Pacific as senior director advisory and transaction services for more than 19 years. His other former experience includes stints at JLL and Stanton Hillier Parker.

Elodie Allegret has joined Cygnet West as director of its commercial property management division. Ms Allegret transitioned to Cygnet West after working as Realmark Commerical head of commercial asset management for more than three years, overseeing a team of 14 staff members. Ms Allegret’s other prior property experience includes stints at Savills Australia & New Zealand, Burgess Rawson and Raine & Horne Commerical WA.

Emma Elliott has risen to the role of Golf Western Australia chair after four years on the board, becoming the first female to take up the position. Ms Elliott has been a member of the Hamersley Ladies Golf Club since 2020 and currently serves as the chief executive of the Australasian Legal Practice Management Association, a role she has held for five years. Ms Elliott takes over as GolfWA chair from Greg Higham who will remain with the sports organisation as deputy chair until March 2025.

Wealth management business Perpetual Limited has appointed Tania Cecconi as lead partner for Western Australia, based at the company's Perth office. Ms Cecconi has served in similar senior and executive roles in a variety of sectors such as not-for-profit, community, native title and state government. As lead partner for WA, Ms Cecconi would helm Perpetual's work in community and social investment covering philanthropy, not-for-profits, senior living and First Nations communities.

Poseidon Nickel chief financial officer Brendan Shalders has elevated to the CEO position after Craig Jones resigned to “seek other opportunities”. After two years with the company and five months as chief executive, Mr Jones stepped down on April 1. Mr Shalders was FTI Consulting managing director prior to joining Poseidon in 2019.

Evolution Energy Minerals has appointed Grant Dyker as its new chief financial officer, with the seasoned CFO bringing more than two decades of fundraising and financial activity expertise to the West Perth-based company. Additionally, John Nolan and Jay Stephenson have assumed the roles of chief operating officer and company secretary, respectively.

Samantha Mostyn will become the 28th governor-general of Australia in July, replacing David Hurley, who has served since 2019. Ms Mostyn has extensive experience in business, serving on a variety of boards, and she currently chairs the federal government Women's Economic Equality Taskforce. Ms Mostyn was appointed an officer of the Order of Australia in 2021 for distinguished service to business, the community and women.
