Our weekly appointments wrap includes Katherine Martin, Peter Hobbs, Chris Doepel, Jo Lanagan, Jane Mahon, Alfred Seeling and Ken Anderson.

Macmahon has hired Katherine Martin as general manager, people and HSEQT. Ms Martin has more than 20 years’ experience in human resources, workforce planning, organisational development and change management. Before joining Macmahon, she was head of people and capability at Mineral Resources and has held other positions at Newmont, BC Iron, HWE Mining and Barrick Gold.

Peter Hobbs has been appointed president of the WA chapter of the Australian Institute of Architects. Mr Hobbs has been a practising architect for almost 30 years, working at Brian Klopper, in Paris, and at JCY. He started his own practice nine years ago. He sat on the council for four years and has run the urban design forum for the past eight. Mr Hobbs is on the design review panels for the City of Perth, City of Cockburn and Town of Cambridge.

Chris Doepel has been appointed chair of the Conservation and Parks Commission. Professor Doepel is the chair of the University of Notre Dame’s Program and Course Accreditation Committee and undertakes policy work with the Division of Academic Affairs. Jo Lanagan has been appointed deputy chair with more than 20 years’ experience in government and not-for-profit organisations associated with Aboriginal affairs. Professor Doepel and Ms Lanagan start their two-year terms on May 7. 

The Industrial Foundation for Accident Prevention has announced Jane Mahon will be its new chief executive. Before this appointment, Ms Mahon worked as the general manager at LogiCamms. She has experience working in senior management roles across several industries, including not-for-profit, retailing, account management, wholesaling and mutual insurance.

Architectus has welcomed two new senior associates, Alfred Seeling and Ken Anderson, to its newly opened Perth office. Mr Seeling has worked in Europe, the UK, Japan and Dubai where he was Woods Bagot’s key design principal for the Middle East. Mr Anderson has 35 years’ experience in architecture, interior architecture, strategic facilities planning and project management.
