The Perth Convention Bureau has appointed Paul Beeson as director of business development. Gareth Martin has been appointed director of business development, filling a 12-month vacancy. Mr Martin has a background in the pharmaceutical/ medical industry locally and overseas. Caitlin Craig and Ebaney Johnson have been appointed business development managers following the resignation of Marina McKeague. Ms Craig has recently completed a tourism degree and has been working for Tourism Western Australia. Prior to the appointment, Ms Johnson was sales and marketing manager at Joondalup Resort. Vodafone WA GM Vodafone Australia has appointed Angela Newland general manager for Western Australia. Ms Newland has been with Vodafone for more than 15 years, working both overseas and in Australia. Ms Newland will replace Darren Hayes, who has taken up a senior role at the company’s head office. Hudson Global recruits Ian Graham has been appointed Hudson Global Resources recruitment manager for Accounting & Finance. He was previously state manager of Tanner Menzies, and before that owner/manager of the NZ recruitment company, Taylor Graham Ltd. Nursing, midwifery posting Health care expert and chief nursing officer of Western Australia, Phillip Della, has been appointed as professor and head of the School of Nursing and Midwifery at Curtin University of Technology. Dr Della has been with the Department of Health as chief nursing officer since April 2003 and has been an adjunct professor of nursing to Curtin’s School of Nursing and Midwifery from December 2004. Senior roles at Interstaff David Jolly, a former state director for immigration and for several years since the business services manager of Australian Visa and Migration Services (AVMS), has been appointed business services manager at recently ASX-listed Interstaff Recruitment Ltd. Mr Jolly is well known for his community support and contributions to projects such as the government’s Ethnic Employment Task Force and skill recognition reviews. McKenzie Moncrieff moves David Skender (far left) has been appointed senior consultant, and Gavin Douglas has been promoted to principal of McKenzie Moncrieff Lawyers. Mr Douglas was a senior member of the firm and Mr Skender was a consultant at Phillips Fox DLA Perth. New Curtin school head Tony Travaglione has been appointed to lead the School of Management at Curtin Business School. Professor Travaglione comes to Curtin from The University of Sydney, where he held a key position as the head of research at the Workplace Research Centre.
