Spence new AIM president

The Australian Institute of Management has announced the appointment of Keith Spence as president (WA). Mr Spence was appointed at the institute’s recent annual general meeting. Mr Spence was most recently executive vice-president, enterprise capability, for Woodside and was responsible for ensuring the business operated with the best people, technology and processes.

 

Callachor, Edwards to CME board

The Chamber of Minerals and Energy of Western Australia has announced two senior appointments. Former government adviser Damian Callachor (far left) has been named as director, infrastructure and economics, and management consultant and taxation specialist, James Edwards, has been appointed executive officer, economics and tax. Mr Callachor most recently was a senior policy adviser in the WA government to the treasurer and ministers for transport, water and mental health. Mr Edwards has 14 years’ experience in project management, management consulting and taxation.

 

Australasian’s Jukes follows Caruso

Iron ore developer Australasian Resources has lost two directors in the past month, with Nicholas Jukes resigning last week, shortly after Andrew Caruso handed in his notice as managing director. Chaired by Queensland entrepreneur Clive Palmer, Australasian is aiming to develop the Balmoral South iron ore project in the Pilbara.

 

Jordan PFF general manager

Perth Fashion Festival has appointed Jacqui Jordan to the newly created position of general manager. Ms Jordan brings more than 25 years of experience in events and sponsorship management, corporate and community partnerships, marketing and business development to the PFF team. She was previously senior manager corporate and community partnerships with Mission Australia. Ms Jordan also has experience in the notfor- profit arena, having also lent her expertise to the Senses Foundation team as the organisation's senior manager commercial services.

Budiselik, Schultz to GESB

WA-based super provider, GESB, has announced the recent appointments of Kate Budiselik and Edwin Schultz as investment strategists and part of the investment team managing GESB's$10.4 billion investment portfolio. Ms Budiselik has responsibility for formulating and managing the fund's real estate and infrastructure asset class strategies and multimanagerline-ups. She joins GESB with extensive real estate investment experience gained in the UK, Europe and Asiathat includes senior roles at Citigroup and MGPA. Mr Schultz has responsibility for asset allocation and currency. He joins GESB from Coronation Fund Managers in South Africa, where he spent the past 10 years as a portfolio manager and jointhead of the absolute return unit.

Barnes to Fishermen's Co-op

Geraldton Fishermen's Co-operative has appointed Bronwyn Barnes as an independent director.

Keogh at St John of God

Colin Keogh has been appointed the director of mission at St John of God Hospital in Murdoch. Mr Keogh has preciously worked for the WA Council of Social Services, the Minister for Community Services and as a lecturer at UWA and Curtin University.

Court moves

Judge Janine Pritchard will move from the District Court of Western Australia to become a Judge of the Supreme Court of WA from June 14. Judge Pritchard will replace the Justice Nicholas Hasluck, who retired from the court on May 7. Judge Pritchard's career in the State Solicitor's Office spans 16 years, during which time she acted as counsel and solicitor for the state in litigation. Meanwhile, Attorney- General Christian Porter has announced the appointments of Michael King, Jennifer Hawkins and Kevin Tavener as magistrates of the Magistrates Court of Western Australia.The appointments come after the recent retirement of magistrate Peter Michelides and to fill two vacancies that will arise when magistrates Jeremy Packington and Robert Black retire in July. Mr Tavener will commence his post on May 24 and Dr King and Ms Hawkins will both commence on July 26.

Pollaers joins Hewitt Associates

HR consulting firm Hewitt Associates, which has offices in more than 30 countries, is expanding its presence in Australia, including WA, with the appointment of John Pollaers. Mr Pollaers will be Hewitt's first Perthbased employee, working with Hewitt's existing clients in WA and develop new client relationships, particularly within the resources sector. He has seven years' experience in HR consulting and more than 13 years in the HR field. Before moving into private consulting in 2005 to work with organisations such as Hewitt, Mr Pollaers worked in organisational development at Bankwest.

New Bankwest role for Pavisich

Bankwest has appointed Alan Pavisich as head of corporate and commercial banking. He has worked with Bankwest for 23 years, most recently as head of credit and asset management.
