THE South Metropolitan College of TAFE has appointed Malcolm Goff its new CEO.
Mr Goff has more than 25 years experience in the WA employment and training sector.
He has been acting managing director of the College since April last year.
He has worked as director for five other metropolitan and regional TAFE colleges.
College governing council chairman, Commodore Clem Littleton said Mr Goff’s appointment was a tremendous boost to the College.
“While Mr Goff has a considerable background working in WA TAFE colleges, he also has extensive experience at State and National level in developing and implementing peak national employment and training policy,” Mr Littleton said.
“He was an executive director with the WA Department of Training and Employment responsible for strategic services, quality and review, and client services for more than eight years.”
He was also appointed, by State and Federal training ministers, as the WA representative to develop national quality assurance arrangements for the Australian vocational education and training sector.
Mr Goff said South Metro TAFE had undergone a major transformation during the past year to position itself as a high performing and visionary training organisation.
“South Metro TAFE is determined to deliver on our key role of developing a highly skilled workforce for the benefit of the regions we serve and the wider WA economy,” he said.
“We are committed to providing high levels of access to vocational education and training to the local community and its many diverse groups.”
