AnaeCo in Iraq partnership

Bentley-based AnaeCo has entered into an agreement with an east coast company to explore the possibility of installing its alternative waste treatment technology in Iraq.

New South Wales-based Repindo Resources has signed a memorandum of understanding with AnaeCo to see if it is commercially feasible to implement the latter’s DiCOM technology at the city of Basra.

The technology turns municipal waste into biogas, compost and recyclable material. 

AmaeCo's first commercial plant, being jointly developed with engineering and construction partner Monadelphous, is nearing completion at Shenton Park.

Under the new agreement, AnaeCo would manage the design and commissioning of a 500,000 tonnes per annum facility, while Repindo would construct and manage the project.

The waste facility would be owned and operated by a joint venture company between Repindo and Basra Governorate Council.

AnaeCo managing director Patrick Kedemos said he looked forward to establishing a “fruitful partnership with [Repindo] in emerging economies”.

Shares in Anaeco dropped 0.7c to 3.8c at 1212 AWST.
