Mr Gutnick is clearly not pitching Great Gold at small investors, which make up the registers of most exploration companies. But then, the businessman is not straightforward, and neither will be his legacy. The logo outline of Gutnick Resources continues to adorn empty offices near Kalgoorlie’s central business district. Until Great Gold, that ghost of a logo was believed to be Mr Gutnick’s legacy in the Goldfields after more than a decade of mining, which led to him being named the inaugural ‘Digger of the Year’ at the 1997 Diggers and Dealers forum.
