A YOUNG Perth entrepreneur is banking on the fact that WA’s top executives are really time poor.
Steven Ward has set up a business called Lifestyle Concierge Services to “take the burden of everyday life off professionals in Perth”.
The company boasts a three-person team – all of whom have received police clearance.
Mr Ward said his company would be offering services ranging from delivering lunches to picking up groceries, waiting at the client’s home to meet a repairman or taking the family dog to the vet.
“Basically we’re available to do anything they can’t do,” he said.
“While there are only three of us,
expanding this sort of business is not hard.”
Mr Ward expects the service to be taken up by individuals or by companies who will offer it to their staff as part of their salary package.
He came up with the idea while working in an office.
“I had no time to do anything but work. I came across these concierge services on the Internet. There are quite a few operating in the US,” Mr Ward said.
However, initial take up of the service has been slow.
“Finding the market for this kind of service is the hard part,” Mr Ward said.
“We have to find the right people to target. The biggest thing we have to overcome is most people don’t know what a concierge service is. They think it’s just someone opening a door for them.”
