SILICON VALLEY, CA, February 20th, 2023 SVG Ventures|THRIVE has announced the launch of its APAC Accelerator program, based out of Melbourne, Victoria.

The program will support growth stage AgriFood tech companies from across APAC, including Australia, New Zealand and South East Asia, with a focus on supporting global growth.

The APAC Accelerator program is part of SVG Ventures|THRIVE’s commitment to supporting the AgriFood tech ecosystem in Australia, and follows the announcement of its APAC HQ in Melbourne in July 2022.

The program has received close to 100 applications and held its THRIVE Pitch Day in December 2022, with 20 companies selected to pitch for inclusion in the program.

The THRIVE Pitch Day included a panel of judges from across the AgriFood ecosystem, including Dairy Australia, Elders, Meat & Livestock Australia, GrowAg, and Agriculture Victoria. The program will be delivered with support from partners, such as Agriculture Victoria and La Trobe University.

The APAC Accelerator program is positioned to support companies who are growing out of the MVP stage and developing their operations, teams and product offering for scale up in market.

The program aims to add a complimentary layer to the range of support offered across the AgriFood tech ecosystem in Australia, by providing support for companies who are commercial ready and looking to scale up and enter international markets over the next 18 months.

The 20 companies selected to participate in the THRIVE APAC Accelerator program represent a diverse range of AgriFood tech innovation from Victoria, South Australia, Perth, New South Wales, and Queensland. The cohort includes innovations such as sensors, software, robotics, agricultural implements, and cultivated protein, reflecting the breadth and depth of the AgriFood tech industry in Australia.

The launch of the program begins by bringing the cohort companies together to join THRIVE for a week of in-person programming in Silicon Valley in March that includes business & investor roundtables, networking events, workshops, mentorship sessions, and more.

The program will leverage the global reach of SVG Ventures|THRIVE, building a strong connection between Australia and the US.
