Workplace guide

A GUIDE has been produced to help employers and employees negotiate WA’s workplace agreements system.

WA is the only state that has legislation allowing organisations covered under Federal Awards to return to state jurisdiction under what is called a Part 2A Workplace Agreement.

The legislation was introduced in 1997 and currently about 2,200 employee parties have switched from Federal to State jurisdiction.

There are 192,000 employee parties that have used State Workplace Agreements.

The A to Z Guide of Part 2A Workplace Agreements, produced by the Office of the Commissioner of Workplace Agreements, provides a guide to the process.

Commissioner of Workplace Agreements Bob Cooper said his office’s information system was available to employers and employees at no cost.

“This new guide, which is already in high demand, is the latest in a series of written materials produced by the office to help educate people about workplace agreements,” Mr Cooper said.
