A major revamp for Bullsbrook is on the cards with supermarket giant Woolworths having signed up to build an $18 million development.
Town planner Urbis, on behalf of Woolworths Group, has lodged a development application for a supermarket and mixed-use development at 2510 Great Northern Highway in Bullsbrook.
The proposed development comprises a two-storey Woolworths supermarket, a town square, a liquor store, six food and beverage tenancies, 14 commercial tenancies and a 393-bay carpark.
Urbis’ report said the supermarket and surrounding tenancies, dubbed Kingsford Village, would cover 3,600 square metres of the 4-hectare project site.
The site falls under the Kingsford Town Centre Precinct Plan that anticipates an additional 385 residential dwellings, an increased population of 1,116 people, a public primary school, and four hectares of open space within 47 hectares of land in Bullsbrook.
The Kingsford Village project is the first phase of a proposed larger town centre, which in itself is part of a still developing Kingsford Residential Estate, according to a Woolworths document.
"Woolworths and its project team are seeking to deliver a high-quality retail destination that reflects the country feel of Bullsbrook whilst offering the benefits and convenience of a modern town centre," the document said.
Okeland Communities, formerly known as Amex, is leading a subdivision proposal within the Kingsford Residential Estate.
Urbis’ application said the village would provide a new community, dining and retail hub for the proposed Kingsford Town Centre.
The Metro Outer Joint Development Assessment Panel is expected to consider the application after a public consultation period facilitated by the City of Swan.
