WOODSIDE Petroleum Ltd has revealed that the North West Shelf Venture partners had agreed to a 21 per cent cost increase at the consortium’s Phase V expansion gas plant onshore near Karratha. The project budget was initially $2 billion, but has been revised up to $2.42 billion. The revision is largely due to higher labour costs in construction contracts awarded during a period of extraordinary international construction market inflation, Woodside said.
