Woodside appoints Chatterji as CFO

Wednesday, 24 January, 2007 - 14:28

Woodside Petroleum Ltd has announced the appointment of senior executive Mark Chatterji as chief financial officer.

Mr Chatterji has been acting in the role since last November, when his predecessor Ross Carroll left Woodside to take up a similar role at contracting company Macmahon.

The appointment continues Mr Chatterji's rapid rise through the company's ranks and confirms his position as one of Woodside's most senior executives.

He joined the company in 2004 after working for Merrill Lynch and Goldman Sachs in New York and at Woodside chief executive Don Voelte's old company Atlantic Richfield in Los Angeles.

Initially working as Woodside's director mergers & acquisitions, Mr Chatterji was promoted in July 2006 to the newly created role of director commercial.

A Woodside spokesman said Mr Chatterji would retain the commercial role for the time being.

He is one six members of Woodside's executive committee, along with Mr Voelte, director enterprise capability Keith Spence, director exploration and new ventures Agu Kantsler, director development Paul Moore and general counsel Rob Cole.
