Evans and Tate continues to go from strength to strength, having recently released its Mosaic brand.

The brand will be marketed as a boutique break-away, aiming to bring some alternatives to bottle shop and cellar shelves, rather than sticking to tried and true favourites such as chardonnay and cabernet merlot.

The three initial releases are a Sangiovese Shiraz blend, a Viognier and a Petit Verdot.

The wines are the product of fruit sourced from a number of Evans and Tate vineyards, put together at the group’s Salisbury winery in Mildura, Victoria.

Back in Perth, local design firm Turner Design was enlisted to create labels for Mosaic.

The result is a label with modern metallic stock and screw caps that are sealed underneath the cap opening.

Turner Design managing director Neal Turner said the idea was to lift the brand out of the ordinary.

“We could afford to be more contemporary with this brand, and it adds an edge,” he said.

“It was intended as a stand-alone brand and we think the design will help market positioning.”
