CHITTERING Valley-based winery Western Range Wines, controlled by a group of publicity-shy Perth lawyers and businessmen, is on the hunt for a general manager.

Situated one hour north-east of Perth, Western Range Wines operates a 1,000 tonne plus capacity winery which relies on the grapes picked from local properties owned individually by the shareholders. It has just finished its third vintage with a crush of 60t. The winery recently received a gold medal at the 2002 Great Australian Shiraz Challenge.

According to records obtained from the Australian Securities and Investment Commission, the company is owned by companies associated with Anthony Rechner, Malcolm McCusker, Marilyn Corderoy, Terry Prindiville, Tom Berrigan, Dennis Yagmich, Kevin Prindiville, all listed as current directors of the company.

The general manager will be replacing Vincent Lange, who will continue to work with Western Range Winery in a capacity to be determined once a replacement has been found.
