WestStar subsidiary SIMPEC has been awarded $6 million in contract extensions, bringing the total value of contracts awarded to the company since July to $30 million.

An industrial services company that provides engineering, construction and mining services to the resources, energy and infrastructure sectors, WestStar subsidiaries include Distinct Developments and Brazphos, with SIMPEC largely handling engineering contracts.

SIMPEC managing director Mark Dimasi said the extensions were recognition of the team’s ability to deliver to client expectations, and gave thanks to his team for their efforts.

The announcement comes after WestStar acquired oil and gas-focused steel fabricator Alltype Engineering in November, with the all-scrip transaction worth around $5.9 million.

Chief executive Robert Spadanuda said the acquisition would deliver sustainable growth for WestStar, and that he looks forward to further updating the market at a meeting scheduled for later this month.
