West Perth-based developer of internet monitoring and management software, WebSpy Ltd, has signed up with Global Marketing Partners to distribute its products in North America through the world’s largest technology distributor, Ingram Micro Inc.

According to WebSpy’s chief operating officer, Lagis Zavros, the agreement will provide further market penetration and presence within North America.

“[The agreement] presents resellers and clients [with] a smooth process for handling their purchase of WebSpy products,” he said.

WebSpy has operated in the US since 2000 and has established a base of more than 1,000 clients. Under the agreement, WebSpy US-based staff will be providing sales and pre-sales support to GMP, Ingram Micro and their resellers.

The company has been established for 10 years with offices also located in the UK. The company generates more than 80 per cent of its sales from its WebSpy and Inspection Manager products overseas.

Earlier this year, WebSpy appointed French-based IT sales and distribution organisation, Athena Global Services, as its master distributor for France.

Mr Zavros said WebSpy already had more than 100 clients in France, including several government and private organisations, with the Athena agreement expected to further expand its client base.

In September, the company launched its new product, WebSpy Insight for Microsoft SBS Premium, at SMB Nation 2006 held in Washington.

In May 2004 WebSpy was ranked 18th in the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 awards, having achieved 189 per cent revenue growth over the previous three years. In October 2003, WebSpy gained 35th position in the BRW FAST 100 list.

The company provides management monitoring and reporting tools to enable clients to make informed decisions relating to the use of their internet and email systems.
