WHILE we love to think we live in splendid isolation, The Note knows many Western Australians have to suffer the slings and arrows of east coast derision. One that sticks in the craw is the claim that WA stands for "Wait Awhile". It would be easier to dismiss such sentiment if we didn’t do things to reinforce it. How about www.wa.gov.au – arguably the official portal of the state. The left-hand corner of the home page shows an icon prompting viewers to find out what’s happening in WA by way of events. Thankfully the page you go to is up-to-date, but the icon reads "See It, Do It ‘05"… That’s so last year, perhaps we’ve waited long enough to change that one?
