AS part of its ongoing personnel reduction, the Seven Network dismissed 43 of its staff this week, 10 years ago, including nine staff in Perth. A total of 33 staff lost their jobs in Sydney and one in Melbourne, with most of them being off-camera employees, including engineers, camera operators, maintenance and support staff. Managing director Gary Rice said the dismissals were part of a streamlining process that would concentrate resources into programming. It was understood the network intended another spate of dismissals later in the year.
