THE Federal Court paved the way for Western Australian investors to launch a $5 million class action against New Zealand Guardian Trust, the company that allegedly had been “trustee” for the $2.2 million funds the investors put into failed Century Insurance bonds. Corporate debt collectors acting for the investors, many of whom lost their life savings, have written to Guardian Trust’s parent company Tyndall Australia to negotiate an out-of-court settlement.
