JOE White Malting Ltd announced plans to construct a $34 million malting plant at Forrestfield with an expected production output of 80,000 tonnes per annum. Construction is expected to start in October of 1996 for completion by the end of 1997. Joe White Maltings director Joe Maltings said the new plant would add significantly to the group’s malting capacity and would help it to increase its export capability to the high growth Asian market.
