RESIDENTIAL developments in Western Australia have taken out three of nine categories at the Urban Development Institute of Australia’s national awards, while WA real estate agents have scooped four national awards for excellence.

Brookfield Multiplex’s Vale development in Perth’s north-east won the residential development award, while the urban renewal and president’s awards went to the East Perth Redevelopment Authority’s New Northbridge.

UDIA WA chief executive Debra Goostrey said the judges praised Vale for its balance of built form and community open space.

She said the judges were also impressed with EPRA’s New Northbridge – the transformation of the 28-hectare corridor of land made vacant by the construction of the Graham Farmer Freeway.

Meanwhile, Momentum Wealth’s Emma Everett won the buyers agent of the year award at the Real Estate Institute of Australia's national award. Other REIA award winners were Realmark and Realmark Commercial, which won the communications and commercial agency of the year awards, respectively, and Marlow's Real Estate, which won the community services award.
