The state's public servants are to receive pay increases ranging from fifteen to twenty per cent over three years, ending a long pay dispute with the government.

Public servants have voted to accept a wage rise which will see the average public servant take home an extra $60 a week.

The pay rise also comes with a package of new and improved work conditions including increased allowances, new leave entitlements, paid parental leave for fathers and the right to greater work flexibility.

Department of Consumer and Employment Protection director General Brian Bradley said negotiating the new deal had been a long and involved process.

"In line with normal practice, the agreements will now be signed and submitted to the Western Australian Industrial Commission for registration, so public servants will receive their pay increases as soon as possible."

The pay increase for the 37,000 public servants and government officers will be backdated to March 2008.
