WA Government Overseas Network Conference

The Department of Industry and Resources is hosting a free conference for business people looking to expand into international markets, April 2 to 5 at the Perth Convention Exhibition Centre. The WA government has skilled and knowledgeable staff and representatives employed in many different countries. This conference will allow attendees to hear from and interact with many of these market specialists, who will provide insight and advice regarding stepping into new international terrain and expanding into global markets. The first three days of the conference will consist of sessions and presentations on different industries including education, agriculture, biotechnology, information and communication technology, marine and defence, mining goods and services, oil gas and subsea, building and construction and health. Day four will provide a chance for attendees to arrange one on one meetings with DOIR’s international representatives, as well as some of the departments local industry managers. International speakers for the event include: Noel Ashcroft – Agent General, Government of WA European Office (London, UK); Simon Johnson – regional director, WA Trade Office (Mumbai, India); K V V Rajan – senior trade adviser, WA Trade Office (Chennai, India); Martin Newbery – regional director, WA Trade Office (Jakarta, Indonesia); Craig Peacock – official representative North Asia agency, Government of WA Tokyo Office (Japan); Noriko Hirata – general manager, Government of WA Kobe Office (Japan); Verghese Jacob – regional director, WA Trade Office (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia); Pankaj Savara – regional director, WA Trade Office (Dubai, UAE); BJ Zhuang AM – regional director, WA Trade and Investment Promotion (Shanghai, China); Stella Bu – representative, WA Trade and Investment Promotion (Hangzhou – China); and Young Chan Yu – regional director, WA Trade and Investment Office (Seoul, South Korea).
