Innovative ways to improve and conserve the environment will be recognised in this year’s Western Australian Environment Awards, coordinated by the Department of Environment.
Corporate business, government and community groups can choose to highlight their environmental initiative through any of the 14 categories, which are:
• community achievement;
• corporate leading by example;
• Government leading by example;
• small business leading by example;
• bush, land and waterways;
• coastal and marine;
• resource and waste management;
• air quality;
• energy efficiency;
• water conservation and management;
• eco building;
• infrastructure or services;
• sustainable product design; and
• promoting behavioural change.
Entries for the WA Environment Awards close on July 29 and winners will be announced at a ceremony hosted by the Environment and Science Minister on November 18 at the Perth Hyatt Regency.
