VIRGIN Blue has cut one of its daily flights to from Sydney to Perth in the lead up to Christmas, citing demand on other routes for the redirecting of planes.
The number of daily flights from Sydney to Perth will be reduced from four to three.
A Virgin Blue spokesperson said the service was only being cancelled temporarily, and may be reinstated at a later date.
“The Sydney Perth flights were not at capacity, and there is demand in other spots, so it made sense to redirect the resources,” the spokesperson said.
“If you have four planes not at capacity, it makes sense to reduce the number of flights, and fill up the remaining three flights. Fuel prices are also a factor on the longer routes to take into account.”
