Viento wins $8m BHP contract

Viento Group has been awarded a $7.9 million contract by BHP Billiton Iron Ore for refurbishment at its OHP Substation in Yandi.

It adds to a $9.8 million pipeline construction works contract Viento won, along with joint venture partner Kimberley Pipelines, for the first stage of Fortescue Metals Group’s North Star magnetite project in the Pilbara last month.

Viento executive chairman Ray Munro said the contract was a milestone for the turnkey supply of power services for the group.

Viento shares last traded at 12 cents per share.

POWER INFRASTRUCTURE SERVICES AWARDED BHP YANDI CONTRACT

Viento Group Limited (Viento, ASX: VIE) today announces that its subsidiary entity Power

Infrastructure Services Pty Ltd (Powins) has been awarded a contract with BHP Billiton Iron Ore

Pty Ltd at Yandi for the refurbishment of the OHP Substation. The contract value is $7.9 million

(excluding GST). This contract together with recent significant variations to the Schneider Electric

Wheatstone LNG Downstream project Switch room contract for HVLV Pty Ltd have added

$11.0 million (excluding GST) to the Electrical division’s order book.
