WA’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate rose from 6.1 to 6.5 per cent between October and November, while the national rate increased from 6.3 to 6.6 per cent. However, unemployment rates are still lower than they were a year ago. In November 1999 both the state and national unemployment rates stood at stood at 6.8 per cent.
