THE geologist behind the 1972 discovery of WA’s Telfer gold mine David Tyrwhitt will head venture capital group Orchid Capital Limited’s exploration push into China.
Mr Tyrwhitt, who was also founding CEO of Newmont Australia, will take on the role of exploration manager of Orchid’s wholly owned subsidiary Orchid Resources, which was formed to explore and develop resource opportunities in the People’s Republic of China.
Orchid has also added Centurion Capital director Paul Watts to its team.
