What is your favourite holiday destination and why?

''Tanzania - incredible diversity of landscape, wonderful people and superb hospitality.''

What is your favourite place in WA to take a short break and why?

''Empire Retreat [Margaret River]. You're well looked after and it's easy to do a lot of very little.''

What is your pet hate when travelling on airplanes?

''Snoring - other people's. I visit our US clients and office once a quarter, so sleep on a long-haul trip is essential.''

What has been your biggest travel disaster?

''I once misjudged the time it'd take to get to Heathrow from central London, so my wife and I missed our flight to Ireland. We were due at a black tie event that night at which she was a main guest. I got persuasive, my wife got teary and Aer Lingus got creative. A different destination airport, some fast driving and an in-car change, and we were just 15 minutes late.''

How often do you travel? Is it usually for business or pleasure?

''I fly at least once a month for work. Capitalis mainly advises clients on the east coast, in Asia or in the US. ''I enjoy the travel as I miss the hustle and drive of big cities - travel gives me that fix.''

What's always in your carry-on luggage?

''Bucky - a brand of eye mask that is thick, soft and really comfortable. It lives permanently in my case. I have my wife to thank for the discovery in a Seattle camping shop.''

What is your favourite interstate/overseas restaurant/bar/hotel?

''The Gallery, Pall Mall, London.''

What was the last book you read? ''Gordon Ramsay's Playing with Fire.''

What CD is currently in your car or did you just upload to your ipod/MP3?

''Radiohead's In Rainbows.''

What WA/Perth restaurant do you keep going back to and why?

''I've been to 1907 twice in a month -great ambience, terrific wine list and their entrees are superb.''
