Perth Trades Hall Incorporated has bought a two-storey office building on Havelock Street for $3.1 million from the Moltoni family.

The entity is associated with WA Labor and bought 85 Havelock Street from Wagoona Group Pty Ltd, which purchased the asset for $1.29 million in 1999.

Australian Securities and Investments Commission documents show Wagoona Group is jointly owned by Adam and Katherine Moltoni, of Attadale.

Perth Trades Hall, currently located on Beaufort Street in Perth, is planning to convert the building to its headquarters.

Realmark Commercial director, sales and leasing Brent Griffiths brokered the transaction, and said the asset attracted strong interest.

“We ran a six week expressions of interest campaign and received multiple offers, mostly from owner occupiers needing the space,” he said.

“The buyer saw the requirement to have a presence in West Perth where they can have up to seventy people in the office during campaigns and considerably less when not.

“The location, parking and presence of the building ticked all the boxes for the Labor Party.”
