Titan ICT inks PTA rail deal

Information technology group Titan ICT Consultants has been signed up by the Public Transport Authority to provide service desk and support services for Perth’s passenger rail network.

The contract term is for up to three years, with Titan to provide 24-hour support services for digital radio systems that transmit critical data for rail operations.

Titan ICT Consultants managing director Mike Stegena said the company’s depth of experience in rail systems design and support would provide real value to the PTA.

“Our focus from the beginning was to make a difference in the rail industry, stemming back to the provision of engineering and consulting services on the southern suburbs rail project,” he said.

The PTA deal follows Titan’s agreement with Spain-based INECO to collaborate on transport and rail systems, announced last month.

Mr Stegena said that partnership was formed to meet the challenges of the Australian rail sector.

“The collaboration with INECO significantly increases the expertise in rail systems currently available in the Australian market, particularly in the area of master planning, where global trends are influencing the design of our own rail systems,” he said.

INECO operates across five continents, with its expertise primarily in high-speed rail, light rail and underground facilities.

INECO Asia Pacific manager Alberto Fernandez Lopez said the Titan agreement would strengthen the group’s international presence.
