The Lighter Note

Home sweet home page

The real estate industry has greeted the opportunity of selling online better than most industries, just ask the weekend newspapers that used to rely on the rivers of gold that the housing classifieds once represented.

While property agents haven’t abandoned the hard copy yet, they are certainly making inroads into that market via the internet. The Western Australian industry’s lobby group REIWA went one step further this year by buying out its biggest competitor in the online space, Charlie Gunningham’s aussiehome.com.

Mr Gunningham (pictured) now runs REIWA’s internet operations. So it was nice to see the former Hale School teacher turned entrepreneur adding his flair to REIWA’s website with a new slogan: reiwa.com, you’re home.

The Note’s geek radar went off the scale when we read this. Odds on this will morph from ‘you’re home’, to ‘your home page’ some time in near the future.

Prize opportunity

The Note is always happy to be the bearer of good news, especially at Christmas.

So come on down Jennifer Kippin of Jaffa Holdings in Bayswater who entered a special WA Business News subscribers’ draw.

Mrs Kippin won a three-hour twilight sail for up to 10 people on the Swan River, aboard one of Swan River Sailing's Foundation 36 yachts. The package is valued at more than $1000 and includes an experienced instructor and refreshments on board.

Sail away, sail away.

Best wishes

As self-appointed representative of the team here at WA Business News, The Note would like to wish all of our readers the very best for Christmas and the New Year festive period.
