Tea Time at Howard Park

Howard Park Wines and River Tales Bookshop will host Scottish author, Alexander McCall Smith, author of the bestselling First Ladies’ Detective Agency series. Mr McCall Smith will visit Howard Park on February 13 to speak about his new release, Tea Time for the Traditionally Built, from the successful series. Author of more than 60 books on a wide array of subjects, Mr McCall Smith’s fiction has been inspired by his geographical background and his academic work in law, medicine and ethics. His books have been translated into 42 languages. Guests to the book launch will be entertained by the sounds of an African drumming band and traditional Scottish bagpipes. Modelled on the successful Must in Highgate, the new establishment features a bistro, private dining room and bar. Must Margaret River also lists the A-Z of all wine producers in the world-renowned region, a top 50 selection of local wines, and a further 500 wines from around the country and the rest of the world. Head chef Chris Cheong, who has worked with Mr Blaikie since 2001, is making the most of local produce and his purpose-built meat-ageing cellar. Patrons can sneak a peek into the kitchen through the cellar, where cuts of beef hang until they are drawn down and portioned for service. Must Margaret River is open from noon until late, seven days a week.
