Gavin Taylor has been appointed managing director of Ticketmaster, two months after departing as chief executive of WA Football Commission.

Mr Taylor had worked at WAFC for four years and had most recently come under scrutiny during a parliamentary inquiry into player salaries.

He will replace Maria O’Connor at Ticketmaster, who has been promoted to chair.

Mr Taylor said in a statement he was excited to join a company he genuinely believed in.

“In this role, I’ll be focused on supporting the business and the wider live entertainment industry in Australia as we forge the path to reopening,” he said.

“Ticketmaster will play such an important part in reconnecting venues and artists with their loyal fans, and I look forward to playing a part in supporting and delivering these fan experiences.”

WAFC is still searching for a candidate to replace Mr Taylor.
